John Chavis Memorial Park
About
John Chavis Memorial Park is a 28.87-acre city park at 505 Martin Luther King Jr Boulevard in Southeast Raleigh, added to the National Register of Historic Places in 2016.
Its Allan Herschell carousel dates to about 1923 and was bought by the city in 1937 for four thousand dollars. The park also has a community center, a splash pad and a section of the Capital Area Greenway.
