SARDUC x RDUAE Fall Fest
9:30 a.m.-2:30 p.m. · The Corner @ NCSU, 941 Main Campus Drive
An Asian cultural festival at The Corner on NC State's Centennial-adjacent campus, free to attend with registration required in advance.
The registration requirement is the detail to act on rather than read past. Free events that ask you to register do so because they are managing capacity, which means turning up on the day without having signed up is a real risk rather than a formality.
What the day covers:
- Food from across Asian cuisines
- Cultural performance
- Community and student organization stalls
- Activities suited to families
A 9:30 a.m. start is early for a festival and worth planning around. Morning events of this kind are usually at their best in the first ninety minutes, when the food is freshest and the performers are running to schedule.
The Corner sits on Main Campus Drive, which is straightforward to reach and has campus parking around it. Weekend parking on university campuses is generally easier and cheaper than the equivalent downtown, which is a point in this event's favour.
Our read: university-hosted cultural festivals tend to be run by students and community organizations together, which produces a less commercial event than a city-run one. Fewer branded tents, more people cooking food they actually eat at home.
Free, but register.
Student-run festivals also tend to finish on time, which is worth knowing if you are fitting this around something else on the Saturday afternoon.
