The Hope Center at Pullen

About

The Hope Center at Pullen is a nonprofit on Hillsborough Street in Raleigh that works with young people aging out of foster care in Wake County. Aging out means leaving the system without a family to fall back on, and the center’s work is to make that transition workable.

Staff connect these young adults with resources and steady support, working toward a community where a person’s history in foster care does not set a limit on their future. The team describes its work as empowering youth in that transition.

What to know

  • Members of Pullen Memorial Baptist Church formed the group in 2009.
  • Its first focus was people experiencing homelessness in the area.
  • The mission narrowed in 2013 to young people with foster care histories.
  • Raising Hope is the organization’s signature fundraising event each year.
  • An impact report covering 2024-25 is published on the website.
