The Angus Barn Ltd.

The Angus Barn has been on Glenwood Avenue since 1960, and it is still the Raleigh restaurant people pick when the occasion matters. It is a steakhouse first: the beef is aged in-house, the seafood is fresh, the vegetables are grown locally and the desserts are made there.

The wine cellar is one of the largest in the country and has won awards for it. The building holds enough rooms that a wedding proposal, a birthday dinner and a business meeting can all be happening at once.

What to know

• The Wild Turkey Lounge is one of the best-known rooms in the building.
• A separate Meat Locker lounge is also open to guests.
• Private dining tables and banquet rooms are available for groups.
• The Pavilion at the Angus Barn is one of two private event venues.
• The other is Bay 7 at the American Tobacco Campus in Durham.
