Sushi Blues Cafe has been on Glenwood Avenue since 1999, making it the Glenwood South District’s original sushi spot. It is a fun, lively room in downtown Raleigh, and the blues theme runs through the whole place.
The menu covers sushi bar offerings and traditional Japanese dishes. Appetizers include the Dynamite, a mix of tuna and crabstick sauteed with kewpie mayo, mushroom, sesame seeds, and onion over a bed of rice. It has been doing this for more than twenty-five years now, which is a long run for a downtown restaurant.
