Snoopy’s

Snoopy’s is a locally owned hot dog grill that started in Raleigh in 1978, and this location sits on Hillsborough Street. The hot dogs and cheeseburgers come on a steamed bun with mustard, onions, and chili, the eastern North Carolina way. It is a plain counter operation, and that has always been the appeal.

The menu has grown since the early days, and prices have stayed reasonable. Everything is made to order, so you can have your food your way. There are five Snoopy’s locations now across Raleigh and Garner.

• The original Snoopy’s opened in 1978 off Wake Forest Road.
• Homemade chicken salad and made-from-scratch vegetable soup were added to the menu later.
