Rod Abernethy
About
Rod Abernethy is a Raleigh songwriter and guitar player working in the Southern troubadour tradition. His songs lean on storytelling and mature writing, and his acoustic guitar picking is an attraction in its own right. He was an overall grand prize winner in 2021.
Away from the folk records, he composes award-winning music for film, television and video games, which he keeps on a separate website. He plays live around Raleigh and Wake County, including shows at The Bar(n) at Sonark Farms. One reviewer wrote that he holds an audience in the palm of his hand.
