Reliable Jewelry Company has been selling jewelry in the Triangle since 1949, and its store sits on South Wilmington Street in downtown Raleigh. Bridal jewelry, watches, estate pieces, and fashion jewelry all get counter space, and the name has been built on being affordable as much as on the luxury end of the case.
The business has stayed in the family. The Reliable Loan & Jewelry store was purchased in 1976, and in 1999 Phillip’s son Alan joined his father in running it. Customers who bought rings here years ago still bring them back when something needs attention.
