Raleigh Symphony Orchestra
About
The Raleigh Symphony Orchestra performs under music director Jim Waddelow, an Oklahoma native who has been director of instrumental activities at Meredith College since 2007. Each season includes Home Grown, a chamber program of all-new pieces by student composers.
Home Grown is performed at Jones Chapel. The orchestra draws on the local music community for players and staff, and several have long ties to Meredith College, including the artistic operations manager, who graduated from there in 2024. One member has played with the orchestra since moving to the area in 1986.
