Raleigh Convention Center

The Atlantic Union Bank Convention Center, known for years as the Raleigh Convention Center, is downtown Raleigh’s main building for conventions and large events. The modern facility covers about 500,000 square feet on South Salisbury Street, right in the middle of downtown.

Inside there is a granite lobby with dramatic windows looking out on the city, an elegant 32,000-square-foot ballroom, and an exhibit hall big enough for a trade show. Technical amenities run throughout the building, and a major expansion now underway will add considerably more room.

What to know

• The expansion covers 298,100 square feet of new space.
• Once it is finished the total footprint will reach 798,100 square feet.
• The addition brings flex spaces, more ballrooms, and additional meeting rooms.
• The in-house culinary program has won awards.
• A staff directory and current job openings are both posted online.
