North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance

About

The North Carolina Down Syndrome Alliance has its office on Spring Forest Road in northeast Raleigh and works with people across the state. It supports individuals with Down syndrome, their families and the wider community around them, from the Triangle out to the rest of North Carolina.

The work runs along three lines, which are outreach, advocacy and education. The group also steps in during the harder stretches, when an illness or a surgery makes a family glad that somebody outside the house thought of them. Much of that depends on people speaking up for a neighbor.

What to know

  • The alliance serves both children and adults with Down syndrome in North Carolina.
  • Anyone can suggest a CARES bag for a child or adult facing an illness or surgery.
  • Staff can be reached by phone, email and virtual meetings.
