Harris Barber College

About

Harris Barber College is a barbering school on South Blount Street in Raleigh, and it has been part of the city for close to a century. The people who run it say the college has stayed at the top of its field for training the next generation of barbers.

History is a big part of the identity here. The name on the door is the founder’s, and the school still points back to graduates who came through decades ago. For a student walking in today, that is a long line to step into.

What to know

  • Samuel Harris founded the college in 1930.
  • Students are offered a way to improve professionally, financially and spiritually.
  • Tobias McLean graduated from the college in May of 1982.
