Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh

About

Habitat for Humanity Greater Raleigh builds and sells affordable homes to families who live or work in Wake, Johnston and Franklin counties. The families buy the houses, and donors and volunteers do the building alongside them. The office is on North Raleigh Boulevard.

The affiliate has been at this since 1985 and marked 40 years recently. It puts its purpose plainly, describing the work as putting God’s love into action, and it also runs ReStore donation centers where goods are resold to fund the houses.

What to know

  • More than 850 homes have been built across the three counties.
  • Nearly 2,000 families have been served in all.
  • The work covers new construction, home preservation and global building.
  • First Citizens Bank put $500,000 into a revolving loan fund here.
  • A Summer of Service internship gives young adults experience in nonprofit work.
