Franklin-Christoph
About
Franklin-Christoph designs and makes writing instruments from its shop and headquarters on Preslyn Drive in Raleigh. Fountain pens are the center of the business, with ballpoints and mechanical pencils alongside them.
The catalog goes past pens into leather goods, specialty paper, inks, pen cases, backpacks, wallets and watches. Pens are made in the United States, and the company keeps more than a hundred models in stock at any one time. Sales run through an online stock room, and customers can sign up to hear when a sold-out model returns.
What to know
- Limited editions are decorated by outside artisans and artists.
- Those runs include Maki-E art pens from Japan and sterling overlays from Italy.
- Some engraving is done in house.
- The Model 31 and Model 40M were made with a Raven motif.
