Frank Thompson Hall
About
Frank Thompson Hall on Dunn Avenue is the home of University Theatre at NC State, which has been open to any student since 1964. Students work onstage and backstage, and the building holds the Kennedy-McIlwee Studio Theatre.
The 2026 season brings Metamorphoses, Spring Awakening and Sense and Sensibility to the stage, along with a student-written comedy. Some productions play here and others move to Stewart Theatre in the Talley Student Union. Tickets are sold for each production, and anyone can get involved, with roles that fit a wide range of time commitments.
