Carmichael Gym (North Carolina State University)

Carmichael Gym sits on Cates Avenue on the NC State campus and anchors the university’s Wellness and Recreation program. The complex holds the fitness facilities used by students, staff and members from the wider Wolfpack community.

Recreation at NC State goes back to 1923, when the university set up a department of physical education and athletics. The program has been reorganized several times since, and the current name, NC State Wellness and Recreation, was adopted in 2018. What began as one department now covers several facilities on campus.
