About
Cantina 18 is on Daniels Street in the Village District, which is Raleigh’s oldest shopping center. The kitchen describes what it does as Southwestern fare with a Southern drawl, and it has been open since March 2010.
Jason Smith is the chef and proprietor, and he goes after the freshest seasonal ingredients from North Carolina farms and purveyors. The menu follows what those farms have in a given season. His take on Southern-Tex cooking is built to stay affordable, which is part of why the room fills up.
