Berto’s Chimis is a food truck that works around Raleigh, serving the chimi, a Dominican street sandwich. It is a hamburger of sorts, dressed until the sauce runs, and it is sold on streets across the Dominican Republic.
Roberto Diaz started the truck. He was born in the Dominican Republic and grew up on Long Island, surrounded by the sounds and flavors of the island, and he wanted to bring more of that culture to people than the usual restaurant menu tends to offer. He calls the truck his dream.
