Benchwarmers Bagels – Transfer Co. Food Hall

Benchwarmers Bagels runs a counter inside Transfer Co. Food Hall on East Davie Street in downtown Raleigh. It is one of three shops the bakery keeps around the city, and it has been slinging bagels since 2019.

The bagels get a long, cold fermentation before they are boiled in honey water and baked in a wood-fired oven until dark. The grain is heirloom and milled fresh by Boulted Bread, which is why the crumb comes out open and airy. The result is a bagel that tastes like it took time.
