Arts Access North Carolina

About

Arts Access North Carolina is a nonprofit on West Morgan Street in Raleigh working where the arts, education, and disability meet. Its aim is plain enough: communities where the arts are open to everyone, children and adults alike.

Day to day that means audio description for patrons who are blind or have low vision, the Artist Link Project directory for artists with disabilities, and training and workshops that help arts organizations make their programs barrier free. The group also consults with organizations that ask for help.

What to know

  • The organization wants arts groups to treat inclusion as a core value.
  • Acceptance, lived experiences, partnerships, and collaboration are its stated values.
  • Funding comes partly from the City of Raleigh on the Raleigh Arts Commission’s recommendation.
  • The United Arts Council and the North Carolina Arts Council also support the work.
  • A 2025 My Carolina segment covered the Kaleidoscope show at the Arts Access Gallery.
