Amedeo’s Italian Restaurant

Amedeo’s has been serving Italian food on Western Boulevard in Raleigh since 1963. Founder Amedeo DeAngelis, known as Dick, played football at NC State and helped the team win an ACC championship in 1957, and he opened the restaurant a few years later.

He built the place around the things he cared about: Italian cooking, NC State football, and good company. That combination has held up through a change of ownership, and the kitchen still turns out the Italian food the family built the name on.

• David Harris took over as majority owner and operator in 2010.
• Rodney Byrd, Jill Parker, and Dave Parker came in as minority owners.
• Harris and Byrd were college roommates before they became business partners.
• The two previously bought Remington Grill and grew it to 12 locations.
• Catering packages are available for birthdays, weddings, and corporate events.
