Szechuan Garden
About
Szechuan Garden is a casual Chinese restaurant on Chapel Hill Road in Morrisville, cooking real Szechuan flavors with sauces made fresh in its own kitchen. Takeout is a regular part of the business, and orders can be placed for pickup.
The cooking is not shy about heat. Greg Cox reviewed the restaurant for The News & Observer in 2016 and wrote that you could close your eyes, point at any category on the menu, and still order well. He singled out the Chef Specials, calling the tri-pepper chicken incendiary, which is fair warning.
What to know
- The Chef Specials section includes cumin lamb with cowhorn pepper, chili pepper, and onion.
- Orange beef arrives as crispy breaded chunks in a tangy, spicy brown sauce.
- Mongolian Seasons combines shrimp, chicken, and beef in a hot wok for smoky flavor.
- Vegetarian plates include orange tofu and stir-fried Chinese broccoli with garlic.
- Indy Week reviewed the restaurant in a piece titled Embrace the Heat.
