The Miracle League of the Triangle
About
The Miracle League of the Triangle runs baseball for children and adults with special needs, on fields built so wheelchairs and walkers are no obstacle. Every player is paired with a buddy, and families and volunteers fill out the rest of the day.
The league is based in Cary and marked its twentieth anniversary season in the fall of 2026. Its first season opened in September with more than 100 players and 200 volunteers from around the Triangle, and it has kept growing since, adding age groups and a third field.
What to know
- An adult league and a competitive division were added in spring 2015.
- A third location opened in Durham in the spring of 2023.
- Volunteers must be at least twelve years old to take part.
- Groups can sign up together for a service or outreach project.
- The league raises money through a golf tournament with sponsorship spots.
