North Carolina Football Club plays out of the soccer complex on Soccer Park Drive in Cary, where the men’s professional team is based. Owner Steve Malik bought the club and brought in Curt Johnson as president and general manager.
The club relaunched its identity on December 6, 2016 under the name New State of Soccer, pairing the new brand with plans meant to raise its profile. Chief among them was a new home ground big enough to meet Major League Soccer’s requirements, along with a membership program for supporters.
