Illusory Wall Prints

Illusory Wall Prints makes 3D-printed wall art and other pieces, built up layer by layer, from a shop on Crossroads Boulevard in Cary. The pitch is that an idea comes out the other side as a detailed model you can hold. The tone is straight out of a tabletop game: the invitation is to summon your loot.

Alongside ready-made pieces, the shop takes custom commissions. A character, a creature, or a useful oddity can become a made-to-order object worth displaying, giving, or using every day. The shop also publishes guides on what to expect from a custom print.

What to know

• A custom 3D model printing service covers original designs.
• Printed work includes collectibles and home decor as well as wall art.
• The guides compare custom commissions with ready-made pieces on budget and timeline.
• Space at home is another factor those guides walk through.
