Friends of the Page-Walker

About

Friends of the Page-Walker is a Cary nonprofit that formed to save the historic Page-Walker Hotel and stayed on to support it. The restoration story runs from making connections and bake sales through to construction, and ends with warm memories and new dreams.

Today the group supports the Page-Walker Arts & History Center and is an official partner of the Town of Cary. Its website and social media pages lay out the ways it serves the community, and the awards it has received say the work has been noticed beyond town limits.

What to know

  • The Town of Cary named the group its Partner Organization of the Year in 2012.
  • Capital Area Preservation gave the Friends its Anthemion Award for preservation advocacy in 2013.
  • The group marked its 30th anniversary with an open house at Cary Lazy Daze in 2015.
  • A video of that anniversary open house is posted on the group’s website.
