Fafabiotic is a skincare company run out of Cary by Farzaneh Rezaei, a microbial formulation scientist. Its product is a living probiotic lotion meant to keep the skin’s own microbiome in balance, which is a different starting point from most skincare.

It is aimed at skin past 40, working on uneven tone, fine lines and pigmentation in one step morning and night. Rezaei spent 15 years helping industries trust living microbes to do things no chemical could, some of that in the harshest environments on earth, and the lotion came out of that work.
