Every parent knows the Saturday shuttle: soccer practice here, a birthday gift there, lunch somewhere in between, and a car that never cools down. The Factory was built as the answer.
The idea
The Wake Forest sports and entertainment mall was conceived, in its own telling, as an answer to the frustration of driving from place to place for practices, lessons, gifts, and meals — putting the whole circuit under one roof so families can eat, shop, and play in one stop. Inside: sports and recreation businesses, entertainment venues, retail shops, and restaurants, including ice rinks, indoor golf, and laser tag.
The town's indoor commons
Described as unlike any place in the Triangle, The Factory functions less like a mall and more like the area's indoor commons — the birthday-party headquarters, the rainy-Saturday failsafe, the practice-plus-dinner combination that never requires re-parking. Its tenants anchor entire categories of family life here, from the rinks where the town learns to skate to the party venues that book out weekends.
The genius isn't any single tenant. It's the compounding convenience — the fact that whatever the family needs next is a walk, not a drive. Tenants and details are on their directory listing.
