The Depot on First is the upscale end of dining in downtown Knightdale, on North First Avenue. Kevin Stratton runs both the kitchen and the restaurant, and the plates lean on handmade pasta, fresh seafood and steak. Reservations are the safer way in on a weekend.
Much of what the kitchen uses comes from local farms, and the drink list runs long on wine and bourbon. Sunday brunch is an all-you-can-eat buffet with the breakfast standards and a rotating set of chef specials, from Cajun shrimp to barbecue pulled pork.
