Best podiatrists in Wake Forest: 5 offices close to home

Podiatry is thin on the ground in Wake Forest. Inside town limits only three offices could be confirmed, and two of them belong to the same InStride network. So the search widened to about 25 minutes out, into Rolesville and north Raleigh, and it still stopped at five offices.

The editor's pick is Ironworks Podiatry, which Aaron Leshikar, DPM, opened in Rolesville on July 30, 2026. It is new and physician-owned, and it runs a lower-leg wound care service beside its general podiatry work. Inside town, Wake Foot & Ankle Center has three DPMs in Wake Forest Business Park. Farther south, Raleigh Foot & Ankle Center sits on Wake Forest Road in Raleigh and traces its start to 1977.

How we chose

We started in Wake Forest, then added Rolesville and north Raleigh, within about 25 minutes, because town ran short. Each pick needed a 2026 signal; facts came from practice sites first, and awards counted only when named and dated. Five offices cleared the bar, so the list stops where verified picks stop. Cut: a South White Street office with no site or 2026 signal, Wakefield orthopedic offices with no DPM, and Midtown Raleigh, too far.

Entries are alphabetical, not ranked; prices were last checked in October 2026. We have not judged or used these medical providers; picks rest on training, stated board certification, services, hospital ties and a 2026 signal. The board's licensee lookup could not be opened for any doctor. Confirm insurance and referral rules with each office.

Carolina Foot & Ankle Specialists

Falls of Neuse Road in north Raleigh holds the nearest established multi-doctor podiatry office to Wake Forest on that side of the city. WakeMed's location page names Devin Grant, DPM, as a podiatrist at this office. Directory listings put a longer roster at the same suite, among them David Tobin, DPM, a Scholl College graduate whom Healthline lists as accepting new patients and speaking Spanish. The group also runs offices in Knightdale and Cary, per BBB.

Why we chose them

  • WakeMed's 2026 website lists this Falls of Neuse Road office as a current location with online booking.
  • A Healthline listing says David Tobin holds admitting privileges at Rex Hospital and WakeMed Raleigh.
  • Ownership is unsettled: WakeMed lists it as a location, but a job posting places it in UNC Physicians Network.
  • No practice website turned up, and the doctor roster differs between WakeMed and directory listings.
  • No dated 2026 post from the practice itself turned up, so call before booking a first visit.

Address: Raleigh — 8305 Falls of Neuse Road, Suite 100

InStride Capital Foot & Ankle Centers

Capital Commerce Center, off Capital Boulevard, holds the Wake Forest office of this Triangle podiatry group. Its site lists shockwave therapy, diagnostic ultrasound, PRP, OnyFix nail correction and laser toenail treatment, with advanced wound care, X-ray and in-office surgery on the same page. Three surgically trained DPMs appear on the group's roster: Eldon Peters, Jacob Panici and Brittany Brower. The office posts that Spanish is spoken, and referral and new-patient forms sit on the site.

Why we chose them

  • Eldon Peters shows an American Board of Podiatric Medicine board certified badge on his practice bio.
  • InStride's locations page, updated January 7, 2026, lists the Wake Forest office as current.
  • Bios for the three doctors do not say which office each one works from.
  • This is one of several group offices, with others in Raleigh, West Cary, Fuquay-Varina and Chapel Hill.
  • No dated 2026 post from the practice itself turned up, so call or use the request form first.

Address: Wake Forest — 123 Capcom Ave., Suite 2

Ironworks Podiatry

Rolesville got a new podiatry office on July 30, 2026, when Aaron Leshikar, DPM, opened Ironworks Podiatry on Redford Place Drive near Redford Place Park. The physician-owned practice pairs general podiatry, diabetic foot care and foot and ankle surgery with a separate lower-leg wound care service for diabetic, venous and arterial ulcers. In-office digital X-ray and laser treatment are on its service list, and the site advertises same-week appointments for new patients.

Why we chose them

  • His Wilmington Health bio lists a DPM from Kent State University College of Podiatric Medicine in 2014.
  • Both of his bios list a three-year surgical residency at a level 1 trauma center in Indianapolis.
  • He is board-certified in wound care by the ABWM, per his bios, which name no podiatric surgery board.
  • The practice site lists him on the board of the American College of Clinical Wound Specialists.
  • The site says it takes most major insurance but names no carriers, so confirm coverage first.

Address: Rolesville — 101 Redford Place Drive, Suite 202

Raleigh Foot & Ankle Center

Wake Forest Road runs through Raleigh, and that is where this practice moved its main office in 2021, near Duke Raleigh Hospital and about 20 minutes from downtown Wake Forest. Eight podiatrists see patients here and at a Holly Springs office. The About page lists in-office X-ray, ultrasound, neurovascular testing and custom orthotics, plus shockwave therapy for heel pain, laser treatment for toenail fungus and Neurogenx treatment for neuropathy.

Why we chose them

  • The practice dates to 1977, per its About page, and its founder retired in March 2018.
  • Duke Health pages list three of its doctors as certified by the American Board of Foot and Ankle Surgery.
  • Its contact page still shows an old Millbrook Road address; the office now sits on Wake Forest Road.
  • It belongs to the USFAS network, which also includes Wake Foot & Ankle Center in Wake Forest.
  • No dated 2026 post from the practice itself turned up, so call or use the booking page first.

Address: Raleigh — 3801 Wake Forest Rd., Suite 100

Wake Foot & Ankle Center

Inside Wake Forest Business Park, off Capital Boulevard, this three-doctor podiatry office is part of InStride Foot and Ankle Specialists. James Judge, Michael Hodos and Jenna Brettschneider, all DPMs, work from a long service list that includes bunions, hammertoes, heel pain, neuromas, gout, toenail fungus, pediatric foot problems and orthotics. The site says care runs from routine visits to complex surgery, and online booking is live.

Why we chose them

  • A blog post dated June 18, 2026 on its own site shows the office active this year.
  • Michael Hodos earned his DPM at Temple in 1993 and finished residency in 1996, per a Tebra profile.
  • The site calls its podiatrists board-certified but does not name the certifying board.
  • It belongs to InStride Foot and Ankle Specialists, PLLC, and shows the USFAS network logo.
  • Its contact block shows an Indiana address from a network template; the office is in Wake Forest Business Park.

Address: Wake Forest — 833-C Wake Forest Business Park
