Best hair salons in Wake Forest: eight independent picks
Wake Forest has no shortage of hair salons, but few of them leave a dated public trail. Most independent shops in town book through apps and post news only on social media, so this list leans on salons whose own sites, prices and 2026 activity could be checked.
Inside town, the picks run from Creative Shears, on downtown's South White Street since 2005, out to South Main Street, Durham Road and the Rogers Road corridor near Heritage, where Hair Undone puts a curl cut on its posted menu. The search widened to Falls of Neuse Road in north Raleigh, about 10 minutes from downtown, for Larkspur Salon Spa and Pinup Studio, and to downtown Rolesville. No Youngsville salon turned up with a 2026 signal.
Treat it as a shortlist to start from. Published prices appear where a salon posts them, and two entries carry a call-ahead note.
How we chose
Wake Forest salons came first. Larkspur Salon Spa and Pinup Studio, in north Raleigh about 10 minutes from downtown, made it on firm 2026 signals; Virginia Page & Co. is in Rolesville. Adrift Hair Co. has a Wake Forest mailing address, but we could not confirm it is inside town limits. Each pick needed a 2026 open signal: a dated page on its own site, a dated press release or an INDY Week placing. Hair Undone and Virginia Page & Co. rest on current price lists and booking pages.
Facts come from each salon's own site, and awards count only when named and dated. National chains and suite-rental buildings were left out. Entries are alphabetical, not ranked. Hours and prices were last checked in October 2026; call about anything unconfirmed.
Adrift Hair Co.
Crystal Scott leads this independent salon at Crenshaw Corners, which uses a Wake Forest mailing address; whether the spot sits inside town limits could not be confirmed. A Sept. 3, 2026 press release describes a calm, intimate salon in place of a busy floor. The menu covers dimensional color, lived-in blondes and brunettes, balayage, cuts, bridal hair and makeup, skincare and NovaLash lash extensions.

- Its "Salon of the Year" title comes from the Consumer Ratings Institute, a paid-placement outfit, so treat it as marketing.
- The salon's own site would not load for fact-checking, so confirm services and pricing by phone before booking.
