Grub Smokehouse

Grub Smokehouse is a husband-and-wife smokehouse on Capital Boulevard, just north of Wake Forest. Its mailing address is in Youngsville, and some map apps place it in Wake Forest, so the town line is a little fuzzy here. The Wake Forest Chamber notes that it has reopened.

The kitchen cooks from scratch and builds its menu around smoked meat on bread. House-cured pastrami starts as brisket, pulled beef gets smoked and then slow-cooked in its own fat, and the chicken is brined thigh meat. It is a sandwich shop that takes its smoker seriously, an easy lunch stop up the highway.
