Gallicchio’s Market & Eatery
About
Gallicchio’s Market & Eatery is an Italian market and deli on Person Street in Raleigh’s Oakwood neighborhood, run by chef and owner Stacy Gallicchio Murphy. It opened on October 8, 2026, in the former (Ish) Delicatessen space after several pop-ups.
A market case holds house-made pastas, vegetables and take-home meals, and a bar menu offers salads, pastas and sandwiches, among them roasted pork with broccoli rabe, a muffuletta and a meatball sub. Everything is made in-house, and special dinners are planned. Murphy modeled the shop on the Italian delis of New England.
What to know
- Gallicchio is Murphy’s maiden name, and the rooster on the window comes from the family crest.
- Murphy has cooked at Emeril’s in New Orleans and at Ming Tsai’s Blue Ginger in Massachusetts.
- Some Raleigh diners know Murphy from the Pounded Pig Food Truck.
