Best things to do in Rolesville: parks to pinball

Rolesville sits just southeast of Wake Forest and northeast of Raleigh, close enough that Mill Bridge Nature Park's trails tie into the Wake Forest greenway system. Inside town limits, the options are mostly town parks, led by Main Street Park downtown and Mill Bridge with its amphitheater. The Saturday farmers market at Cobblestone Village and two newer bar-entertainment spots on the south side of town, Pixels Bar + Arcade and The Pub Hub, fill out the rest.

The town's own Things to Do page also points visitors just past its limits, to Fantasy Lake Adventure Park and Mitchell Mill State Natural Area, and both are on this list. The Farm Park on the old Frazier Farm is still under construction. Use the list for a Saturday morning downtown, an evening concert or a weekend outing, and read each entry for what is seasonal and what to confirm before going.

How we chose

Six picks are inside Rolesville. Fantasy Lake Adventure Park has a Wake Forest mailing address and may sit in unincorporated Wake County, and Mitchell Mill State Natural Area is in unincorporated eastern Wake County; we included both because the town's Things to Do page sends visitors there and each is within 10 minutes. Every pick needed a sign of being open as of October 2026, with facts from town pages and the businesses' own sites.

We left out the unopened Farm Park, the Little House Museum (no current signal), the Community Center (a rental hall), farther farms and the Rolesville restaurants on our separate list. Rolesville is small, so the list stops at eight, sorted alphabetically and unranked. Hours were last checked in October 2026; call about anything marked unconfirmed.

The Downtown Rolesville Farmers Market

Revived in 2018, the market at Cobblestone Village has grown from 5 vendors that year to more than 25 a week, drawn from a list of over 150 area businesses, according to its own site. Saturday mornings bring the outdoor market downtown, and a year-round store in the same development keeps local goods on the shelves between market days. Admission is free, so it makes an easy start to a weekend in town.

Why we chose them

  • The outdoor market runs Saturdays from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., starting March 21, 2026.
  • SNAP is accepted, and the market runs the Double Bucks program, per its own site.
  • Pets are welcome at the outdoor market, according to the market.
  • The end date for the 2026 outdoor season is not posted, so check before a late-fall Saturday.
  • The year-round store is open Tuesday through Sunday, with shorter Sunday hours of noon to 5 p.m.

Address: Rolesville — Cobblestone Village, 108 S. Main St.

Fantasy Lake Adventure Park

A 65-acre former quarry lake on a 100-acre property between Rolesville and Wake Forest, Fantasy Lake ran as a scuba park before WRAL says it reopened as a family water attraction in 2023. Summer brings an inflatable water park, kayaking, paddleboarding and a splash pad for children under 4. Certified divers can explore a sunken aircraft, a bus, boats and a rock crusher. The mailing address is Wake Forest, and the Town of Rolesville lists it 2.5 miles from its town center.

Why we chose them

  • As of early October 2026 the water activities are closed for the season, while scuba continues daily.
  • WRAL reported on June 5, 2026 that it added the nation's largest inflatable waterslide, over 40 feet tall.
  • Admission starts around $40, according to WRAL's June 2026 report.
  • Sessions sell out, so buy passes online and complete the waiver before arriving.
  • Scuba is limited to certified divers, and snorkeling and free diving are not allowed.

Address: Wake Forest — 3601 Quarry Road

Main Street Park

Rolesville's downtown park sits on Main Street, 0.3 miles from the town center by the town's own count, with a second entrance on Scarboro Street. It has two playgrounds, an open play field, a gazebo with power outlets and more than a mile of greenway trail. The Sanford Creek Greenway links it to Mill Bridge Nature Park, and the 2023 mural "Prepare for Takeoff," part of the town's Murals Trail, is on site.

Why we chose them

  • Four rentable shelters hold 40 to 110 people, and each has its own charcoal grill.
  • Shelter rentals need an Active Rec Desk account and carry a two-hour minimum.
  • Any shelter without a reservation is open to walk-up groups on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Rental rules ban alcohol, tobacco, personal grills and outside entertainment such as inflatables or DJs.
  • Restrooms are on site, and the town is clearing invasive plants from the wooded areas.

Mill Bridge Nature Park

Off Rogers Road, this town park holds Rolesville's 200-seat amphitheater, home of the free Music at Mill Bridge concert series, with genres that range from bluegrass and Motown to beach and country. Walking trails pass small waterfalls, according to the town, and connect to the Wake Forest greenway system and, by the Sanford Creek Greenway, to Main Street Park. The mailing address reads Wake Forest, but the park belongs to the Town of Rolesville.

Why we chose them

  • Music at Mill Bridge concerts are free, run 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. and bring food trucks.
  • The town also holds Movies at Mill Bridge here, so check the town calendar for dates.
  • The amphitheater has a 10-by-20-foot stage with electricity and can be rented.
  • Park construction cut back the 2025 concert season, and its completion could not be confirmed.
  • The town said the spring concert series would return in 2026; confirm dates on its calendar before going.

Address: Rolesville — 425 Nature Park Dr., off Rogers Rd.

Mitchell Mill State Natural Area

Outside town limits in unincorporated eastern Wake County, this 105-acre state natural area runs along the Little River on granite flatrock of the Rolesville Batholith. The Town of Rolesville lists it about 5 miles, or 8 minutes, from its town center. It is a primitive site with trail access for nature walks, and in April the rare elf orpine blooms on the rock outcrops, according to a 2023 guided walk.

Why we chose them

  • No 2026-dated source turned up, so treat access as unconfirmed and check with NC State Parks first.
  • Parking is a small dirt lot at Mitchell Mill Road and Pulleytown Road, with no street number.
  • There are no restrooms anywhere on the property.
  • Sturdy shoes are recommended for walking on the granite flatrock.
  • The town gives the location as Mitchell Mill Road at Zebulon Road, NC 96, the route used to reach it.

Address: Unincorporated Wake County — Mitchell Mill Rd. at Pulleytown Rd. (parking area, no street number)

Pixels Bar + Arcade

Rolesville's only arcade pairs more than 30 retro arcade and pinball games with a full bar, per its own site, in Bluestone Crossing off S. Main Street. The pinball lineup, 10 machines by the Kineticist tracker's count, runs from older tables like Attack from Mars and Cactus Canyon to newer John Wick and Pokémon machines. An on-site kitchen, 8 Bit Bites, makes honey sriracha wings and empanadas.

Why we chose them

  • All ages are welcome with an adult 21 or older until 8 p.m., then it is 21 and over only.
  • Signature cocktails are named after video games.
  • Food is ordered at the counter or by scanning the code at your table.
  • Visit Raleigh lists older weekday hours starting at 3 p.m., while the bar's own site shows noon openings daily.

Address: Rolesville — 110 Bluestone Crossing Rd.

The Pub Hub

Rolesville's only taproom sits on S. Main Street and is built around North Carolina craft beer. The Pub Hub's site puts it plainly: "We don't brew... We celebrate the ones that do." Owners Dan Colby and Liza David planned about 20 bar seats, shared tables and an outdoor area with a fire pit and yard games, according to Business Debut. There is no kitchen; nearby restaurants deliver to the space.

Why we chose them

  • Business Debut reported on March 31, 2026 that it aimed to open around July 4, 2026.
  • No dated grand-opening post or article turned up, so check its site before driving over.
  • It opens at 3 p.m. on weekdays and Sundays and at noon on Saturdays, per its own site.
  • Live music and games are part of the plan, according to Business Debut.
  • Business Debut listed the space as Suite 206, while the pub's own site gives Suite 106.

Address: Rolesville — 811 S. Main St., Suite 106

Redford Place Park

Ballfields are the point of this Town of Rolesville park on Redford Place Drive, which has three baseball and softball fields, one of them named Marvin Perry Field. Between games, families can use a single picnic shelter with eight tables and power outlets. The town posts a park map PDF on its park page, which helps first-time visitors find the right field before the first pitch.

Why we chose them

  • Field A takes bases at 60, 65, 80 and 90 feet, with a 330-foot outfield fence.
  • Marvin Perry Field, also called Field B, has 60- and 65-foot bases and a 310-foot fence.
  • Field C uses 60-foot bases with a portable outfield fence.
  • Town park rules apply, and the town's park page was current as of 2026.

Address: Rolesville — 121 Redford Place Dr.
